Jerusalem is a focus of diverse religious-LGBT communities. These communities voice voices of inclusion and tolerance in LGBT contexts even within the religious establishment – they take their place in tolerant synagogues and educational institutions. But the queer-religious context still remains limited to questions that have a halachic tone, and reduces the essence of the queer-religious life to questions of religious or sexual acts only.
The Queer Beit Midrash meets for a regular group to study Gemara tractates on Wednesdays at 8:30 am, Zoom.
In addition, the Beit Midrash holds study days around holidays and dates in the Jewish-LGBT calendar.
