Our goal is to transform Jerusalem into a city where all LGBTQ+ can live authentically and freely, without fear of judgment or persecution

The Jerusalem Open House (JOH) for pride and tolarance is a social change organization that operates an educational, therapeutic, multidisciplinary community center for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Since 1997, we work to turn Jerusalem into a city where every person will have the freedom to be themselves and live their life, and to build an Israeli liberal ploralist model society, whit full equal rights to sexual and gender minorities.

The Open House in Jerusalem was established in 1997 by Jerusalem activists from the LGBTQ+ community, who decided that they could not wait for a better reality – they would change their lives themselves.

After two years of planning and volunteer efforts, the Open House community center was proudly opened in the heart of Jerusalem. Marking a historic milestone, the Open House raised the Pride flag from its balcony for the first time in October 2002, symbolizing hope, acceptance, and a beacon of inclusivity in the city.

Building on our democratic community roots, we offer holistic services designed by and for our community. We commit to non-violent action, promoting diversity, and protecting human rights, to build a more inclusive and equitable Israel.
